About the Role:

As the Senior Manager Commercial, you will be responsible for leading a growing team of Business Development and Commercial Development Managers to identify and commercialise 3rd party investment opportunities at the Energy Hub sites, with the goal of securing long term lease and commercial commitments from proponents. The Energy Hubs will leverage existing land, infrastructure and renewable energy and storage supply, to support the development of new and existing industries on the sites, in partnership with Industry and Governments.

You will also develop a suite of foundational contract terms and conditions (including Development Agreements, Civil Works Agreements, Interface Agreements, Lease Agreements etc) to ensure contract terms reflect the over arching Hub strategy and operating model, as they are developed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing technical and commercial feasibility assessments, development of business cases, creation of commercial structures, complex high value contract negotiations and their commercial implementation
  • Development of internal project management frameworks and template commercial agreements
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders in relation to access to, and augmentation of, key enabling infrastructure and services
  • Lead the team to identify industry partners / tenants at the Hubs and facilitate discussions through to the executions of a non-binding MOU, to facilitate preliminary technical and financial investigations
  • Advise on or lead commercial negotiations with Regulators, Planning Authorities and industry players with respect to infrastructure or commodities such as water
  • Recruit, train, manage and coach the team in accordance with AGL’s values

About You:

You will have extensive experience in commercial structuring and complex high value contract negotiation, preferably in brownfield development projects, or from within the energy, mining or heavy industrial industries. Your stakeholder engagement, commercial acumen and leadership skills will set you up for success.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, engineering, law or a similar discipline
  • Advanced people leadership experience, including leading a team with a diverse skill set and experience levels
  • Proven success operating in ambiguous and uncertain environments and the ability to identify the “deal space” and achieve risk optimised decision making
  • Strategic problem solving, with an aptitude for complex decision making and the ability to manage competing priorities for multiple opportunities
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with experience working with internal and external stakeholders

At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including:

  • Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives
  • Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions
  • Access to study assistance, AGL’s share purchase plan and insurance deals

*Benefits may change over time and vary based on role type and location.

We’d love to see your application, submitted by Friday 10th of May.
