We are on the lookout for a Psychosocial Safety Lead to join our People team

Bupa’s purpose is helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives and making a better world. The Psychosocial Safety of our people is paramount, and a key focus area for Bupa, aligned to our purpose and values. Bupa is committed to providing workplaces that are psychologically healthy and safe, where psychosocial risk is managed effectively, supporting our people to thrive and work at their best.

This position reports to the Head of Psychosocial Safety and works in close collaboration with the wider People and Operational Teams balancing technical expertise with exceptional stakeholder engagement to shape and influence our Psychosocial Safety strategy. This role is pivotal in driving key initiatives and supporting senior leaders, business units, and operational teams in identifying and managing psychosocial risks. We're looking for someone who thrives on collaboration, can engage and influence at all levels, and is passionate about promoting a safe and psychologically healthy workplace.

This is a permanent role based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements.

How will you make an impact?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to guide and influence the execution of a Psychosocial Safety program aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with WHS, People, and Operational teams to identify and address psychosocial risks through co-developed, targeted risk management programs.
  • Lead the design and delivery of both large and small Psychosocial Safety projects, ensuring successful implementation across the organisation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and external benchmarking to inform data-driven Psychosocial Safety strategies.
  • Analyse and monitor risk data to identify emerging issues and guide proactive risk management efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and evolving standards, keeping the organisation at the forefront of psychosocial safety practices.
  • Build awareness and enhance psychosocial risk capability through structured learning initiatives across the business.
  • Maintain strong relationships with SMEs and teams, acting as a consultant to embed effective psychosocial safety practices.

Why work at Bupa?

We keep our people smiling by helping them improve their lives in and outside of the office.

We’re a welcoming lot, no matter who you are or where you’ve come from. We welcome all talents and backgrounds and embrace our differences, so you can bring your true self to work.

We support our people to be the best version of themselves, physically and mentally. With a healthy work/life balance, leadership support, reduced private health cover, study leave, volunteering options and a commitment to promoting from within.

Our employees can access wide range of benefits: from our own products (incl. health insurance subsidies) to many other products and services via our partnerships program (like Apple, Samsung, JB Hi-Fi, plus gym and spa discounts to name a few). We reward our people and celebrate their success, provide initiatives that develop careers and look after our people’s health, wellbeing, and futures.

What do I need?

  • Previous experience working in Psychosocial Safety, corporate wellbeing, business psychology, or work health and safety.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and requirements across Australia and New Zealand
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior leaders and executive teams, technical and functional specialists, business facing People Business Partners and Consultants
  • Demonstrated experience in the autonomous and end-to-end management of corporate wellbeing, WHS or psychosocial safety related activities and programs.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Work Health and Safety or related fields.
