Busy Bees at Port Melbourne is a 122-place service that is proud to showcase our service as being warm and nurturing, fostering a fantastic learning environment and inspiring learning opportunities for children aged birth to 5 years. Our purpose-built service is filled with educational play spaces and Educators who are dedicated to encouraging children to learn & grow.

Our service is looking for multiple Casual Educators who are passionate about the Early Childhood Industry. This is a great chance to work with a fantastic service and team and take your career to the next step while enjoying a flexible work schedule.

Essential Qualifications

  • Certificate III, Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or an equivalent/higher qualification as recognized by ACECQA).

  • A current and valid Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one.

  • First Aid Certificate including training in asthma and anaphylaxis.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to provide a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all children.

  • Understanding the developmental milestones and needs of children in various age groups.

  • Capability to design, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs for children.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with children, parents and colleagues.

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team.

  • Adaptable to various situations and needs that arise in an early childhood setting.

Essential Experience and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with the national early learning framework for children from birth to five years.

  • Understanding of the standards and assessment process to ensure quality service.

  • Respect and understanding of diverse cultures, families and individual children's needs.

  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software to document children's learning and development.

  • Previous experience as an Educator, Assistant Educator, Childcare Assistant or similar.
