The Role

ABC's Art, Music and Events team is seeking a talented Series Producer for an exciting contract position in Sydney. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love working with diverse teams, and have a deep understanding of screen production, this is the role for you.

As the Series Producer, you will plan, produce and direct episodes for the assigned program that resonate with local and national audience. This series will delve into the processes, challenges, and triumphs of artistic endeavours, showcasing the stories behind iconic works of art. You will play a key role in shaping the editorial direction, ensuring the series’ content aligns with ABC's high standards for innovation, quality, and audience engagement.

The Job

  • Contribute substantially to the quality and direction of the program by producing major/complex television productions and resolving very complex editorial issues independently or in consultation with the Executive Producer.
  • Identify and develop original story ideas as well as new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.
  • Provide feedback, guidance and development to colleagues in directing and visualising very complex information in an engaging and entertaining style with strong audience appeal.

About You

To thrive in this role, you must possess exceptional storytelling abilities, a deep appreciation for the arts, and a proven track record in producing high-quality content.  You'll possess highly advanced editorial skills and substantial experience researching, interviewing, writing and structuring television programs.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to foster an open and creative approach to work and share ideas, skills and knowledge across the team.
