The role you could play

In this role as Chef, you would be responsible for overseeing and being responsibility for daily operations of the kitchen and provision of catering at the Harry Hunter Centre.

Your key responsibilities

• Ensure that the standard of meals provided to participants is of an excellent standard leading to a high level of participant satisfaction
• Make certain day-to-day purchase, delivery, storage, preparation, cooking, service and presentation of food and drinks for participants is completed within the prescribed standards
• Ensure that the Harry Hunter Centre always has adequate supplies to deliver high quality meals
• Meet resident food requirements regarding food preparation, presentation, delivery and choice
• Communicate with management to ensure residents’ food requirements and dietary needs are met

This is a permanent part-time position, located in Gosnells, WA. This role will operate Sunday - Thursday 11:00am - 6:30pm. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3 Award.

The ideal candidate would have

• Tertiary or Industry qualifications equivalent to at least Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
• Food Handlers Supervisor’s Certificate and skills
• Extensive experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
• Thorough understanding of Hospitality Industry requirements and standards
• Experience in managing a food services program within a residential facility with proven ability to run a food program within budgetary constraints
• Ability to develop, write, administer and evaluate all aspects of the Food Safety Plan
• A National Police Record Check is required (to be completed in the recruitment process)
• Current WA Drivers Licence
• Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
