The Role

The Swatch Group currently has an exciting vacancy for a full-time watch technician to come on-board and join our expanding team within our Melbourne service centre.  In this role you will be responsible for the partial and full services of quartz and mechanical movements, through movement exchange following technical instructions and specifications of SGA Brands by meeting qualitative and quantitative KPI’s (e.g., productivity, come back, turnaround time) 

We are committed to support our Watch Technicians gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become experts in the field to ensure precision and accuracy in watch mechanics while providing excellent service to our valued customers.

This role will be responsible for

  • Bracelet intervention or exchange
  • Quick battery and pressure test
  • Rate/ magnetism check
  • Regulation of mechanical movement
  • Complete disassembly and ultrasonic clean of case
  • Replacement of seals, crowns, pushers, battery and additional optional items
  • Safe removal of dial and hands
  • Movement testing to ensure quality product is used
  • Complete and test according to brand specific tolerances/instructions
  • Maintain tooling provided by SGA
  • Switch off all equipment on a daily basis
  • Ensure technical documentation is updated at all times

The person in this role would need to have the following skills and experience

  • Satisfactory results of a watchmaking apprenticeship course or minimum 2 years’ or relevant industry experience in a watchmaking company
  • Ability to perform complete movement exchange of Quartz and Mechanical watches
  • Proficient in fault finding
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communicator with team interaction
  • Drive for excellence, strive to improve
