About the role

Reporting to the Manager Health and Safety, the primary purpose of the Officer Operational Training role is to support site based operational teams  meet their training obligations, as defined in the Atlas Position Based Learning Matrix. This is an 8/6 FIFO role in the Pilbara working between all 3 current sites.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage training requests, planning, scheduling and coordinating with key stakeholders
  • Working with stakeholders to develop high-quality learning materials, including presentations, videos and eLearning packages that leaves a lasting impression
  • Deliver engaging, outcome driven training to Atlas personnel, both in person and through electronic means
  • Complete training administration tasks such as database updates, reporting and invoice processing
  • Monitor training compliance among staff members and report training attendance and completion rates to department managers
  • Ensure your safety and health at work, and as part of the Health & Safety team serve as a positive safety role model.

About you

You will be an individual who can think outside the box, can work autonomously, have an eye for detail with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role in mining or a resources related industry
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualifications (TAE40116 or later)
  • Understanding of the Western Australia WHS Act and Regulations (Mines).
  • Qualification in a Safety and Health or related discipline is desirable.
  • Experience developing engaging presentations and E-Learning packages
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, contractors, and associates at all times.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication, influencing and negotiation skills. 
  • WA Drivers licence, Manual, C Class 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
