About Our Client

Our client is a leading university in Melbourne.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures and systems to ensure all university assets (including operating lease assets) are accurately recorded, measured and tracked.
  • Prepare and provide accurate reporting on all University assets in a timely manner, and in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
  • Develop implement and maintain procedures to accurately identify and account for all capital projects
  • Prepare depreciation budgets and forecasts for the University and provide analysis on the movements.
  • Prepare monthly reports on the University's leased assets and the associated leasing commitments, including all leased equipment and property leases.
  • Design and implement a rolling cycle of fixed asset stock takes to ensure the accuracy of asset location
  • Design, develop and test e-commerce asset transaction processing systems

The Successful Applicant

About you:

  • Immediate availability / availability at short notice
  • Demonstrated experience with the principles of asset accounting, recognition and recording in line with Australian accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis and re-engineering of fixed asset business processes in a large and complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of operational procedures and training materials.
  • Experience with Finance One (Technology One) desirable
  • Experience in providing high level strategic and policy advice in an educational context is highly regarded
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards this
