South Brisbane, Australia Jacobs Full time

Market
Digital and Data

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we know that when it comes to a world that’s smarter, more connected and more sustainable, digital solutions are an important thread linking it all together.

In our digital advisory work, we’re leveraging innovative technologies and big data analytics to solve the world’s most critical challenges. From shaping the safer cities of tomorrow, to protecting against climate change – we’re combining diverse talents with deep client-application experience and digital intelligence to deliver solutions that connect people and places with the means to work smarter and live better, and make an enduring, positive difference in the world.

We have exciting opportunities for Intern Surveyors to join our Perth, Brisbane or Sydney Data Capture teams this summer. You'll work on either an individual project or an array of projects. The work we perform is diverse – spanning a wide range of markets from Transport and Water to Power and Renewable Generation – and could see you working at a client location, or for clients from our facilities. You'll complete field surveys and office tasks alongside our team of experienced surveyors on major road, rail, power and water infrastructure projects across the Australia and New Zealand region, primarily within your home office location. Your key tasks include providing critical survey and utilities input into engineering and design processes – and we'll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you're set up for success.

Here's what you'll need

Ideally, you're in your penultimate year at university studying Surveying (or equivalent degree). This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in Australia. Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Our Summer Internship Program

As an Intern at Jacobs, you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. Under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

From gaining hands-on experience to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place. You'll impact the world around you by helping us solve real-life challenges. YOU are the future of our company. We’ll rely on you to provide support to our teams on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table.

We see our interns and graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we’re delighted to have placed #23 in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers award for ‘Most Popular Employer’ in 2024 and featured in the Top 10 for 'Most Popular Engineering Employer' Award No matter what drives you, you’ll discover how you can cultivate, nurture, and achieve your goals - all at a single global company.

Jacobs. A world where you can.

From our inclusive employee networks, to our positive mental health champions – we’re committed to driving a culture of caring where you can be you. We know that if we are inclusive, we’re more connected, and if we are diverse, we’re more creative. We accept people for who they are, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, mental health, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and whether you’re pregnant or on family leave. This is reflected in our wide range of Global Employee Networks centred on inclusion and diversity – ACE, Careers, Enlace, Harambee, OneWorld, Prism, Vetnet, and Women’s Network – find out more about our employee networks here.

With safety, accessibility and flexibility always top of mind, we’ve gone beyond traditional ways of working so you have the support, means and space to maximise your potential. You’ll uncover flexible working arrangements, benefits, and opportunities to do good too – from participating in our global giving and volunteering program, to delivering ever more innovative and sustainable solutions for clients and communities.
