About the Role:
As a Principal Lawyer, you will provide expert legal advice to a major business unit leading one of the largest infrastructure expansion programs the state has ever seen. Your property law expertise will support projects that include building new facilities and upgrading existing ones, ultimately improving services for the Queensland community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on property law matters, including land acquisition and disposal, leasing, licenses, and land title issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of legal agreements and support critical infrastructure projects.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and work with external counsel as necessary.
  • Participate in a supportive, flexible working environment that encourages professional development.

About You:
Law Staff is looking for an experienced property lawyer and a strong track record in significant property matters, particularly within the public sector. Your expertise in acquisition, disposal, leasing, and title work will be crucial for success in this role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Admission as a barrister or solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland.
  • Strong Queensland property law experience (minimum 5 years post-admission), with public sector experience being highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide timely, practical legal advice to diverse clients.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
