Exhibitions Assistant - Casual
Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Exhibitions Assistant at Museums Victoria.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Exhibitions Assistant is to assist with the installation and deinstallation of exhibition related furniture, graphics, and other materials.
Some of the key duties include:
• Prepare and set up showcases (includes moving, placing, levelling, cleaning, applying seals)], install/deinstall showcase furniture, and locate and install/deinstall exhibition dressing
• Complete minor install/deinstall and changeover projects, using prior experience to solve problems onsite
• Assemble and install/deinstall exhibition furniture and displays and provide onsite leadership to external contractors
• Perform spotter duties for colleagues operating elevated work platforms
• Assist with lighting install/deinstall and focusing
• Assist in the production and install/deinstall of exhibition labels and graphics

The successful applicant will have:
• Experience in installing/deinstalling showcases and associated materials and/or lighting in a museum or gallery environment.
• Experience in conducting minor repairs, patching, painting, and attaching fixtures/fittings in a museum or gallery environment.
• Experience in installing/deinstalling 2D graphics or signage in a museum or gallery environment.
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving and attention to detail, with particular attention to Museum standards.

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a Casual role. The salary on offer is $35.82 per hour + 11% superannuation.
