Public Relations Adviser

As a Public Relations Adviser, you are responsible for managing a designated portfolio of client accounts, as well as supporting on and contributing to other projects (current and prospective), as required.
Key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Leading the planning, development and implementation of communication plans on behalf of designated clients in consultation with Six O’Clock Directors and Senior Advisers, and with the client (as appropriate).
- Ensuring program priorities are delivered within agreed time schedules and budgets, maintaining a high standard of work throughout the process.
- Account management including budgeting and client reporting.
- Program reporting and analysis.
- Leading and/or contributing to new business proposals among current and prospective clients.
Requisite skills, accountabilities and attributes
· Overall responsibility for managing client projects and contributing to the delivery of agreed outcomes.
· Proficient in writing for different audiences, purposes and channels (eg. media releases and associated materials, opinion-editorial pieces, online content, reports and proposals), and strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
· Propose appropriate strategies relating to clients’ communication and media engagement approach in way that meets agreed objectives.
· Provide clients with strategic counsel and tactical support on day-to-day issues and opportunities, and add value by identifying new ideas and opportunities for clients (over and above prescribed activity).
· Strong understanding of financial services and related sectors, and the ability to apply your skills and experience to other industry sectors as required.
· Highly competent across a range of PR disciplines including but not limited to internal and external relations, public affairs, issues management and marketing communications.
· Ability to work autonomously on allocated projects including setting strategic direction and tactical implementation
· Excellent knowledge of the media, including being fully conversant in the workings of electronic, print and social media.
· Ability to lead around the business, including through the provision of feedback and direction for junior colleagues.
· Well-developed negotiation and interpersonal skills.
· Capable of managing multiple projects and working to tight deadlines, drawing on highly developed organisational, planning and decision-making skills.
· Proficient in the development and execution of social media and digital content programs as part of an integrated communications approach.
