Social Work Role: Grade 2 Women’s and Children’s Health
A Grade 2 Social Worker, through their clinical expertise has a role in ensuring excellence in patient care, implementation and organisation of clinical and professional teams and foster staff development.
Provide advanced assessment, treatment/interventions and consultative services to acute patients and familiesHolistically address the social, psychological and emotional consequences of illness and hospitalisationEnsure that patients receive high level care across the in-patient and outpatient areas. Regular department in-services, external professional development opportunities, you are able to access study leave for higher educationUnits Covered: This position covers:
Paediatric wardPaediatric feeding clinicMaternity ward and outpatientsAntenatalSpecial Care nurseryIntegrated Family ServicesKey Responsibilities
Ensure the smooth transition of clients through the health care system, liaising with relevant staff and community agencies to ensure continuity of care for individual patients / clients and their familiesParticipate and fulfil requirements of allied health and discipline specific orientation, induction, mentorship, supervision and performance management programsProvide additional support to improve psychological and social functioning and we ensure each patients social, emotional and cultural needs are metMinimise the negative impacts of illness and hospitalisation on patientsSkills and experience
Eligibility for practising membership of Australian Association Social Workers Membership (must have a bachelor or qualifying master’s degree)Demonstrated ability to monitor, evaluate and modify own performance through reflective practiceCulture & Benefits
