Butcher

Dismantles euipment, washes, rinse and sanitises removable parts, euipment and meat room.

Insepects and reassembes euipment, addresses ant corrective actions from the previouse night.

Reworks display case, fulling and rotating merchandise.

Packs/ wraps meat and seafood using automatic and manual wrapping machine.

Labels merchandise and puts labelled/ wrapped merchandise in display case.

Complete Departments paperwork as requires. Complete weekly yield tests.

Adhere to all deraprtments SOP's

Follow Costco Meat Department general and specific meat standards, proceduresand goals.

Cleans and sanitise work area throughout the day, following sanitisationstandard operationg standards(SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation to all equipment required by the position.

Complete and complies with 11 commandments of quality Assurance, Food safety certification, department specifictraining and all safety training required by warehouse and meat department.

Complies by healt code by following sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures. 

Assist with other departments in the warehouse.

Provide and ensure prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and vendors.

Stocks and rotates meat inside meat / cooler freezer.

Remove rubbish from department and work areas.

Operates trash compactor and cardboard bailer.

Transfer cases of meat from cooler to preparation area.

Cuts, trims, tenderise, grind meat and checks fat content per costco specification.

Follow proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished merchandise.

Qualification/ Experience

High School Certificate or Trade Qualification

Meat Department, meat cutting or comparable experience
