About the role
We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to join our team of talented individuals based at our Adamstown laboratory. Working directly with 10 laboratory staff and reporting to the Area Manager. This role is a fantastic mix of supervising staff and hands on laboratory work.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising a laboratory with a technical matrix of 10 staff consisting of, Laboratory Aides, Technical & Scientific staff in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation & Semen motility) Prioritising work- flow to meet client’s requirements Ensuring results are released within agreed turnaround times Liaising with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as requiredAbout you
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent Must hold AIMS accreditation At least 3 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary environment Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity-
