Station Hand

We are looking for a Station Hand to assist with cattle and farming operations at Oakland Park Station in Croydon, Qld. The role will initially be for a fixed term until the end of September, with the possibility for an extension if the wet season has not commenced and work can continue.

Key responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Cattle management, including mustering and conducting animal husbandry tasks, ensuring it is done precisely and safely.
• Farming and pasture programs, ensuring it is done precisely and safely.
• General farm duties including feeding, lick runs, checking water, fencing, operating machinery, and general farm maintenance.
• Property development programs related to farm infrastructure, pastures, and cultivation.
• Assist management to achieve production objectives.

Requirements

• You will hold a C class drivers’ licence (essential).
• You will be physically fit.
• You will be keen to learn any livestock handling skills or have experienced working on a farm (preferred).
• You will have good communication skills.
• You will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with potential for Saturday work).
