The opportunity
As a Structures Aircraft Maintenance Engineer within the Airbus Maintenance Function, your skills, experience and knowledge will be utilised to undertake aviation maintenance activities to meet the needs of Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP) and their customers.
Reporting to a member of the Maintenance Management Team, you are to execute maintenance within the bounds of the authority level delegated by the relevant Responsible Manager. Working within the AAP Maintenance Function, you are required to conduct maintenance in accordance with the relevant regulations, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) (or equivalent) and all other maintenance procedures as laid out within authorised AAP procedures, relevant aircraft maintenance manuals and Defence documentation.
This position reports to Team Lead Component Deeper Maintenance, through respective Aircraft Technical Leads, responsible for all ARH Structural maintenance activities undertaken by the Darwin Maintenance teams. Darwin Structure AME's are primarily responsible for performing ARH Deeper Maintenance activities while also conducting Off aircraft maintenance and supporting operational units in Industry specific tasks, such as advanced structure repairs, aircraft and component modifications.

- Diploma Aeroskills (Structures) or equivalent issued by a Registered Training Organisation
- High-Level aviation airworthiness regulatory knowledge and it's applicability in the relevant environment
- Understanding of relevant aircraft maintenance documentation and practices
- Experience in an Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) environment
- Knowledge of and experience using Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP)
- Have obtained, in the judgement of the relevant Responsible Manager and the Company, sufficient experience on type to support a successful application for maintenance task authorisation at the appropriate level
- Defence Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
The following experience would also be beneficial (however not mandatory):
- Knowledge of and experience using CAMM2
- Knowledge and experience in complex composite repairs including Carbon Composites
- Defence ARH Type rating Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence B1.3 with Structures inclusion

Airbus in Australia Pacific
With employees at sites across Australia and New Zealand, Airbus in Australia Pacific has access to the financial strength and expertise of Airbus Helicopters and Airbus.
In Australia, Airbus provides MRO support to the P-8 Poseidon aircraft and C-130J Hercules transports for the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) and 22 ARH Tiger armed reconnaissance helicopters for the Australian Army. This presence has made a direct contribution to the local economies, built regional aerospace capabilities and created high-value jobs in the aviation industry.
Airbus also operates an MRO business for rotary and fixed wing military aircraft in New Zealand. This covers aircraft operated by the New Zealand Defence Force, such as the C-130H and P-3K Orion. The New Zealand Defence Force operates eight NH90 helicopters successfully supporting disaster relief, search and rescue, and law enforcement operations.

You must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.
