The Position
These opportunities don’t come up often, but this is an exciting position for a specialist psychiatrist to build their career in an established private hospital. As a VMO, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will have access to a consulting space, clerical support, and marketing services, which will be provided free of charge for psychiatrists who admit patients to the wards. The number of patients required for free services will depend on the number of days you utilize onsite consulting rooms. You can rest assured that the hospital doesn’t take any percentage of your billings for inpatient or outpatient services. The hospital provides second-to-none facilities to ensure you can provide each of your patients with state-of-the-art healthcare. The hospital places community care at the forefront and provides an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring you can reach your full potential. You will enjoy variety in your role, with patients of the hospital presenting with various mental health conditions. Not only is there a waiting list of patients ready for consultation, but there is also unmet demand within the area with growth on the horizon. The hospital also has those who must make the move to the Central Coast covered, as they are providing relocation allowance to doctors from out of the area.
The Hospital
The hospital is the largest private mental health facility within the area, with over 270 highly skilled staff that are committed to supporting the local community by providing exceptional care. Currently, the mental health ward is a 37-bed ward and is due to expand to a 27-bed mental health ward in mid-September. This expansion will allow General mental Health patients to be in a separate ward from the Drug and Alcohol patients. The hospital is looking to expand the ground level, creating an extra 15 car parking spaces and 27 patient beds. The hospital has a medical officer on-site 24/7, Radiology and pathology. With expansion of the facilities also comes increasing staff numbers within the team. It is an exciting time of growth for an already established private hospital, making this the perfect time to join the team on a journey to meeting the unmet demand for mental health services within the local community.
The Location
Living on the Central Coast of New South Wales offers a unique coastal lifestyle with beautiful beaches, outdoor activities, and a close-knit community.
