About the program
AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include:
As the Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will work within the Integration, Verification & Validation, and Certification (IVV&C) product teams, and facilitate delivery across multiple teams, ensuring that cross-team dependencies are identified and prioritized. The RTE will provide agile coaching to the IVV&C teams to support effective Scrum or Kanban planning and execution.
Additional responsibilities will include;
- Evaluate and manage cross-team dependencies
- Support risk management
- Remove impediments that could not be resolved at team level
- Drive process improvements and facilitate retrospectives and feedback collection
- Collect, analyze, and report on key Release Train metrics and performance indicators
- Assist in IVV&C Backlog Management and ensure alignment to Program plan and strategic objectives
About you:
To be successful in the role you will have sound System Engineering knowledge within the defence industry, along with;
- Well-developed knowledge in one or more of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (C4ISREW) domains
- Experience within Integration and or Verification & Validation for large complex systems
- Strong Understanding and experience undertaking Agile development
