The Distribution Planner/Administrator will ensure optimal Despatch operational performance across the key pillars of safety, service, people and value to create a world class supply chain that is described as the best and safest place to work. 

The Distribution Planner/Administrator will be responsible for arranging and processing despatch and distribution requests for both domestic and export movements to ensure delivery in full, on time and error free. 

The Distribution Planner/Administrator is also the key contact point between stakeholders and the Logistics department and is responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service through our contact streams.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect in the role:

  • Liaison with stakeholders in relation to freight bookings, picking and deliveries ensuring all meet customer requirements.
  • Booking and tracking of shipments through freight companies ensuring the earliest availability and departure to destination within allowable time frames.
  • Process all customer orders, sales orders, export orders and branch transfers from Vinpac and offsite warehousing.
  • Manage the charging of picking fees and processing of logistics, export container packing and sundry invoices.
  • Liaising with all relevant departments to ensure that shipments run smoothly for all accounts.
  • Handling freight rate requests from clients, potential clients and sales representatives.
  • Communicating all delays and issues to clients in a timely manner.
  • Provide customer service in a professional manner and offer solutions.
  • Track shipments from origin to final destination and provide timely updates as required.
  • Communicate with drivers and customers to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments.

  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Decision making with in scope
  • Ability to respect sensitive information and privacy requirements
  • Previous experience with systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Google and Microsoft products
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of export processes/requirements will be well regarded
