About the Role:
Our client is a highly successful Gold Coast business who provides innovative and safe lifting solutions for heavy machinery in the mining industry.  They have been in operation for over 50 years, and have developed a reputation for uncompromised quality, reliability and design.  Their products are locally manufactured and are supplied to customers in Australia and throughout the World.

This newly created position is a critical role for the business and will require someone who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing production environment, fabrication skills and demonstrated experience in developing and leading a team.  You will be responsible for driving culture, ensuring safety, production planning and scheduling and overseeing CNC manufacturing and operations, whilst coordinating resources to achieve delivery in full on time.

Duties:

  • Assist with hiring, on-boarding and training of the Production Team
  • Ensure Team Members are engaged and developing in their roles
  • Analyse work drawings to determine sequences of operations
  • Ensure inwards goods are checked for quality and quantity against delivery dockets
  • Coordinate dispatch processes, including final QC checks
  • Undertake fabrication and welding processes
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities
  • Drive culture, processes and quality control
  • Ensure adherence to company OH&S policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ in a leadership role within a manufacturing/production environment
  • Cert III in Engineering (Fabrication) preferable
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and processes
  • Ability to interpret drawings, plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of welding and industry standards
  • Understanding of OHS&E requirements and legislation
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current Forklift Licence, Doggers & Crane Licence, preferable
