The role
We're seeking a dynamic leader to lead the functions of Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Talent and Culture at Auto & General including designing and implementing fit for purpose frameworks and providing expert advice to the businesses.
In this role, you will be establishing, running and improving the operating rhythm for Learning & Development Leadership, Organisational Development, Talent and Culture, development and improvement of People & Culture policies and Performance activities.
About you
As a senior leader at A&G, you'll model our values and culture, driving high performance with integrity and finding solutions that benefit all stakeholders. You'll lead, coach, and develop the L&D & OD teams to deliver operational excellence. As General Manager, you'll influence the adoption of our values across the organisation, encourage adherence to company policies and procedures, and promote a culture of high performance with high integrity, demonstrating commercial discipline, ambition, effective risk management, and a One Team mindset.
Additionally, your key responsibilities will be focused on the following areas:
Learning & Development:
- Lead the effective development, execution, evaluation and continuous improvement of all leadership, performance, talent and learning activities.
- Play a leading role in developing and successfully implementing the People & Culture strategy with a focus on prioritising and resourcing continuous improvement opportunities across the People Services team.
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met as they relate to learning and development and the content of induction, “job ready” and upskill programs. This includes the Registered Training Organisation activities, ensuring activities are compliant, commercial and effective.
- Lead the team to define and lead implementation of an integrated leadership, performance, talent and learning strategy to build exceptional leadership, technical and professional development capabilities that is a key part of the employee value proposition as the organisation grows.
Organisational Development, Talent & Culture:
- Lead the delivery of and embed a new Senior Leadership Development model.
- Manage the team budget, business risks and operational reporting.
- Delivering updates, change management, and communications for tools, training and guides that support leaders to develop their team members.
- Embedding and continuous improvement of Performance Coaching Cycles across A&G.
- Delivery and continuous improvement of leadership capability frameworks and associated materials.
- Support the concept design, implementation and monitoring of initiatives that build capability, capacity and improve employee experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
You are an accomplished HR leader with a proven track record in driving performance and enhancing workplace culture. Skilled for Learning & Development Leadership, Organisational Development, Talent and Culture, you excel in strategic planning and team management. With strong commercial acumen and a focus on continuous improvement, you effectively address complex HR issues and implement frameworks that support business growth P&C strategy.
You will also possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; postgraduate preferred.
- Proven ability to develop engaged, high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Experience in change management, relationship building, and commercial acumen.
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability.
