Norwest Private  Hospital  is in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney’s Bella Vista.

The Role

We are currently seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Orthopaedic team. An opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses to join our 55 bed Orthopaedic ward.

Your  responsibilities  will include but are not limited to: 

·Provide customer focused holistic nursing care

·Deliver evidenced based nursing care

·Maintain effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team

·Ensure patient and staff safety

·Engage in a positive team culture 

The Department

The Orthopaedic ward is a new 55 bed ward delivering exceptional care under a mutli-disciplinary team. Patients are admitted for elective or emergency orthopaedic procedures. There is a friendly and supportive medical and allied health team working alongside the nursing staff to provide and promote specialised and dedicated care to our patients.

The ward offers support for all new employees offering preceptorship, mentoring and guidance. The team are further supported by the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Care Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialists. Our experienced team would welcome your passion for nursing and focus to patient centred care. Professional development opportunities are also available.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential qualities:

·Current AHPRA Registration

·A minimum of 2 years’ acute nursing experience,

·Flexibility to work a rotating roster

·Commitment to Quality Patient Care

·Sound decision making and problem solving skills

·Demonstrated ability to act as a patient advocate;

·Excellent communication and customer service skills

·Works well independently and within a team

·Intermediate computer skills

Desired Criteria:

·Specialty nursing experience - Orthopaedics
