St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1400 students (K-12) in 2023. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis is entering its 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.
A permanent full-time position commencing 29th April 2024 (start date negotiable). The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in Technology and Applied Studies.
The role of the TAS Coordinator exists to support the Principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students, and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:
- A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- A commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
- The demonstrated ability to build a positive learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
- The demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively with staff.
- The ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
- A working knowledge and understanding of all Stages of Learning (4-6).
- A comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- The ability to teach Stage 6 Industrial Technology Timber and/or Design and Technology would be beneficial.
- The ability to teach Religious Education would be an advantage
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate qualifications and experience to teach all stages (4-6) to HSC level.
- Level C Accreditation aligned by the ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
