Caulfield Grammar School is a leading, internationally recognised, independent, co-educational school committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities from Early Learning through to Year 12. With over 3400 students across 5 campuses, we strive to deliver innovative specialist educational programs to develop a mind for life, so that learners are equipped with the mental, emotional, and academic capabilities they need for their chosen paths.
STUDENT EXPERIENCE
We believe students of all ages should be provided a range of domestic and international experiences which challenge their perceptions of their own limits, assumptions about other people and places. It is only by experiencing the world firsthand, that one can truly understand the entirety of their own and others’ potential. These experiences not only broaden their horizons but also foster empathy, leadership, and independence. Our boarding house plays a crucial role in providing such opportunities.
Each year our Secondary students have the opportunity to participate in a range of rural and remote experiences immersing them in a set of diverse environments and cultures, fostering cultural awareness, empathy, leadership and independence. The Student Experience team supports the delivery of these experiences across the school with a particular focus on the Boarding House, Yarra Junction and Kakadu Program.
Yarra Junction Program
Located in the Yarra Valley, this campus provides a residential and outdoor adventure hub for our junior and middle school students, offering tailored programs that progressively build upon each other as students advance through the years. Activities are designed to challenge and engage, taking place in the natural environment, promoting adventure-based experiences that deliberately push students outside their perceived limits. By doing so, we encourage our students to rewrite their understanding of their own capabilities, learn about the impact they can make, and instil a sense of responsibility for a sustainable future. Additionally, the campus serves as a working Dairy, where students may assist with morning milking.
Kakadu Northern Territory Program
Situated in Kakadu National Park, this program has grown from a partnership initiative with the Mirarr Traditional Owners. It aims to take Year 9 students out of their familiar home and school routines, further challenging their preconceived notions about themselves, others, and the world. Through this extended residential program, students experience different approaches to land use, ownership, governance and restoration. They also explore Kakadu, a dual world heritage listed site, delving into its history, indigenous cultures, and the experiences of its first people. The program combines elements of Outdoor Education, community and cultural immersion and service learning.
Boarding House Programs
Caulfield Grammar has been a Boarding School since its inception in 1881. Today, we have around 90 Boarders from all over Australia and overseas. We are one of the few schools in Melbourne to offer boarding for both girls and boys. Located just eight kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Caulfield Grammar School’s Caulfield Campus provides boarders with the best of both worlds – an exceptional education and nurturing family environment in one of the world’s most liveable cities. Beaches, parks, cafes and shops are all within walking distance, and the city is just 15 minutes away by public transport.

To lead and support these experiences we require a team of outstanding professionals to fill a range of job types; including Teaching positions, House Supervisor and Coordinator positions, Outdoor Educators and program delivery support roles. These dedicated educators create and deliver inclusive and immersive experiences and develop innovative curriculum in unique environments, providing comprehensive guidance and support for students' academic, social, physical, and emotional growth.
