Salary: $75,000 plus 11.5% superannuation
Our client, Ultimate Refinishes Pty Ltd, is a well-established automotive repair company known for delivering top-tier smash repairs, vehicle refinishing, and insurance-related services. The company utilises the latest technology, including auto robot systems and advanced spray booths, to provide high-quality vehicle restorations.
Ultimate Refinishes are seeking a skilled and experienced Panelbeater to join their team in a full-time capacity. This role is crucial to the company’s success by ensuring that damaged vehicles are restored to their original condition, maintaining the business’s reputation for excellence.
A Panelbeater will be responsible for assessing the structural integrity and damage of vehicles and performing high-standard body repairs. This role requires expertise in working with damaged panels and frameworks, ensuring alignment and smooth finishes that restore the vehicle’s appearance and functionality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repairs and be able to work efficiently with both welding and non-welding techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
· Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or a similar qualification in vehicle body repair or fabrication trade. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
· At least two years of full-time relevant work experience in a similar industry is required. The candidate must have experience in panel beating, vehicle body repairs, and refinishing, particularly within a busy workshop environment that handles insurance and private repairs
In this role your main responsibilities include:
· Assessing vehicle damage and providing accurate repair estimates.
· Removing and repairing damaged panels and aligning body frames to ensure structural integrity.
· Fitting replacement panels using both welding and non-welding techniques, ensuring precision and quality.
· Repairing dents and bodywork to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition.
· Realigning damaged vehicle structures using mechanical and hydraulic tools.
· Removing damaged body parts using tools such as metal cutters, air grinders, and wrenches.
· Filing, grinding, and sanding repaired surfaces to ensure smooth finishes for refinishing.
· Replacing or repairing damaged panels and frameworks as needed to complete repairs.
· Coordinating with paint and finishing departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
· Liaising with the workshop manager to ensure the smooth operation of repairs.
· Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards at all stages of the repair process.
· Refinishing repaired vehicles in coordination with paint and cosmetic repairs.
To be considered for this role you must have;
· Proven experience as a Panelbeater in the automotive repair industry.
· Expertise in advanced tools and equipment.
· Proficiency in both welding and non-welding techniques for panel repairs.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the automotive industry.
· A solid technical and mechanical aptitude
· Ability to read and interpret drawings
