The opportunity to join our team

This role will lead the development and implementation of a strategy to identify and manage the climate risks of multi-asset class investment portfolios, consistent with superannuation members and client financial best interests and Insignia Financial corporate ESG strategy. This role will help with delivering better investment outcomes for Members and Clients through the consideration of material climate (and other ESG) risks in the investment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide SME input into an enterprise-wide project tasked with delivering newly legislated climate risk reporting with a particular focus on the measurement of financed emissions.
  • Represent the Asset Management (AM) division, future proofing the project for likely commercial climate risk reporting requirements at AM product and portfolio levels
  • Determine external data and analytical requirements across all asset classes.
  • Lead discussion and identification of achievable pathways to portfolio de-carbonisation, contributing to the determination of the enterprise target, and specifically recommending targets and pathways for Trustees and other entities in scope of the legislation (e.g. MIS’s, RE’s).
  • Act as a key SME contributor to the journey of developing the climate risk strategy of the reporting entities – delivering papers to the relevant stakeholder Boards (including Trustees), educating, guiding and proposing strategy and pathways.
  • Build a knowledge base on emissions credit and offset markets and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the investment team to develop portfolio and asset class-level emissions reduction and mitigation strategies.

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Responsible Investment and/or Climate Risk within the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG, sustainable investment, domestic and international governance bodies
  • Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) reporting experience
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Able to work independently but also collegiate in approach.
  • Excellent relationship management experience. Ability to work effectively with a broad range of key stakeholders
  • Superannuation industry experience – governance awareness and experience (preparing and presenting for Boards etc.)
  • SRI/Ethical investment product launches and management.
