DFI Operator

UGL is a key player in the Defence industry, managing the Australian Defence fuel related Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance.  We are recruiting Fuel Operators to join our team in what is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment to supporting the national security requirements.  
This is a unique opportunity to join a long-term, operations and maintenance contract within the Defence sector. Work with a Tier 1 services provider, alongside an established crew of experienced technicians.    
The Role   
Led by an Operations Supervisor, this role will be based in Townsville supporting several fuel installation sites in the region. This is a permanent position paying is $44.72 per hour + superannuation. 
DFI Operator 

• Previous experience working bulk fuel management or Defence fuels is desirable 
• Duties as directed by the Operating Agent (OA) 
• Drive to DFI’s around Townsville to collate and report on data 
• Performing operational functions and operational surveillance checks within each Defence Fuel Installations (DFI) 
• Responsible for security, environmental and emergency management of the DFI 
• Minor fuel quality sampling and testing requirements  
• Maintain appearance and cleanliness of surrounding area 
• Maintain accurate records and keep logbooks up to date 
• Excellent time management 
• Responsible for storage, packaging and disposal of Dangerous Goods - including hazardous materials

What you will Need   

• You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee.
• Defence specific training will be advantageous; however, this training will be provided to the successful applicant where required  
• Valid Drivers Licence (HR or HC will be highly regarded)   
• Safety is at the forefront of everything you do  
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance  
• Live locally, or willing to relocate to the Rockhampton region
