We’re looking for customer service-oriented local Indigenous employees with hospitality experience or transferrable skills and a positive can-do attitude.  Your next adventure awaits  

What do Service Attendants do?
Service attendants are hospitality-minded specialists that help improve quality of life for village residents living and working away from home:

  • Working across a range of functions to support operational needs
  • Housekeeping/Cleaning accommodation rooms aka: “dongas”
  • Assisting in the Kitchen and Dining Room service areas
  • Mine Site Cleaning of Offices, Crib rooms and Ablution Blocks
  • Providing customer service in the Tavern or Retail shop
  • Maintaining cleanliness of outdoor areas and grounds
     

What does it take to work as a Service Attendant

The lifestyle can be very rewarding, but it isn’t for everyone. Consider what to expect and what is required of you when assessing your options:

  • Live locally in Weipa
  • Ability to work both day or night shifts as required 
  • Ability to endure remote environment in extreme heat or weather conditions
  • Ability to multi-task and assist in other areas with positive teamwork approach
  • Ability to understand the requirements of safe work and safety protocols
  • Ability to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing
  • Australian working rights and a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months
