We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. 

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

The Opportunity

Exciting opportunities exist within The Women’s and Babies Division to join us as a Clinical Midwife (Education portfolio)

Role Responsibilities:

Provide specific support to the Midwife Unit Manager (MUM) in achieving quality patient care. Undertake clinical education and facilitate learning opportunities for unit/ward staff. Demonstrate developing leadership, coordination, and management skills. Support a multidisciplinary team approach to care and education. Guide and develop less experienced staff. Foster collaboration among nurses/midwives and other health professionals. Work in partnership with women, their families, and other agencies for optimum health outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post-graduation experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines whilst working under minimal supervision. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines. Experience in management and leadership roles.
