Your impact

We are looking for a talented Environmental Consultant to join our Planning and Environmental Approvals Team based in Sydney.

In this role you will be instrumental in delivering our extensive project pipeline encompassing environmental planning, impact assessment, and approvals. You will contribute to significant projects across a range of sectors with a strong focus on defence, renewables, energy storage, transport and water.

We offer genuine flexibility including hybrid (home/office) working arrangement to promote work-life balance. This is a full time position (40hrs per week). 

The role:

You will work alongside highly experienced professionals that will support you to grow and develop professionally. In this role you will:

  • Prepare environmental constraints reports, REFs, scoping documents, environmental impact assessments, statutory planning submissions and environmental management plans.
  • Provide environmental and planning advice to both internal and external clients.
  • Contribute to the delivery of outstanding projects both via technical input and by assisting in project management and specialist coordination.

  • Work in a team that is part of national practice, enabling you to work on projects across Australia with our 280+ strong Environmental Solutions business.  
  • Continue to develop your own technical and consulting skills to progressively take on greater responsibilities as experience grows.   

This position may involve part-time work from client offices, as needed. The salary ranges between AUD 85k to 90k.

Here's what you'll need

We are looking for an enthusiastic and values driven individual to work across a diverse suite of projects across multiple industry sectors. In this role you will develop your consulting, project management and technical skills through delivering a range of environmental consulting projects. You will have:

  • A degree/post graduate qualification in environmental science, environmental planning or related discipline. 
  • 2-6 years’ experience in environmental planning, impact assessment and approvals. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of New South Wales and Commonwealth environmental planning legislation. 
  • Exceptional reporting and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong motivation and ability to work self-directed.
