About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Irrigation Operator to join Santos’ Regional team based in the Roma Field. Reporting to the Irrigation Team Leader, the primary objective of this position is to operate and maintain irrigation systems in line with company values and in accordance with the standard operating procedures and relevant environmental compliance standards.The role is a Rostered Based position being a 2/2 Roster or 15 Days Works inc travel and 13 Days off
As part of the role you will to deliver cost reduction efficiencies and value creation strategies promoting a change and performance mindset to align with creating and maintaining a good safety and work culture.
Note: FIFO from Brisbane, or can be located in Roma Area
Key Accountabilities: Apply knowledge and skills in pressurised irrigation systems to deliver reliable irrigation of CS water within strict environmental compliance conditions. To operate, fault find and repair pivot and drip irrigation equipment. To plan and schedule irrigations in accordance with soil moisture deficits, current and predicted weather conditions, grazing, or forage harvesting operations, amendment spreading schedule and water in flows from the gas field or treatment plants. To work closely with water treatment operators, amendment spreading contractors and pastoral staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure irrigation schedules tie in with other operations in the paddock or at the treatment plant. To conduct/organise field operations to manage unwanted vegetation around infrastructure, maintain trafficability of pivot wheel tracks and irrigation field tracks. Upholds and ensures compliance with all company standards and processes. Ensures compliance with and adherence to standards for EHS performance and behaviour consistent with Company’s environmental, and health and safety vision, policies, and standards. Adhoc activities
About You To be successful in this role, you will possess a Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant work/industry experience in agriculture, irrigation, farming or related technical area and ideally, Machine operation competency tickets along with Gas field related competencies. You will have demonstrated ability to work autonomously and show initiative in proactively dealing with any potential risks. In addition, you must also be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:
Previous experience around irrigation/ farming and /or water pumping, reticulation and control systems. Previous experience working within a highly structured work environment in terms of OH & S and other compliance systems.
Any previous experience in the following, will be looked upon favourably: Experience in working in team environment. Machine operation experience and HV driver licence. Experience or interest in instrumentation and control systems and/or a trade including electrical based background
