Software Engineer

Position: Software Engineer (Specialisation: Software Architect)
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $120,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Beverly Hills NSW 2209
Tasks required include:
- Design and Development: Assist in the design and architecture of software systems, applications, and services that meet business needs.
- Technical Leadership: Work with development teams to implement best practices, including coding standards, testing strategies, and continuous integration.
- Solution Evaluation: Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to recommend improvements to current systems and solutions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other teams to understand technical requirements and business goals.
- Documentation: Create detailed architectural documentation, technical specifications, and diagrams to communicate design concepts to development teams.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of systems by reviewing code and system design.
- Code Review: Participate in code reviews to ensure that technical solutions align with the overall architecture and are of high quality.
- Compliance: Ensure that solutions meet security, compliance, industry-standard protocols, Newgen Quality Systems and Procedures.
- Team management and participate in recruitment process.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 6-10 years in software development or a similar role, with exposure to system design and architecture.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., using JAVA, Spring Boot, SQL/Oracle, J2EE, Junit, Mockito, jQuery, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with the Newgen Product suite, including iBPS, OmniDocs, OmniScan, BRMS and a strong understanding of BPM & DMS concepts required.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks and patterns (e.g., TOGAF, microservices).
- Understanding of databases, APIs, and web services.
- Knowledge of application servers like Apache Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss is preferred, and familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, Sonar, and hands-on experience on the AWS platform would be advantageous.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Proven experience working in agile environments, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
