MEC is a global consulting partner, with a technical capability that spans the entire mining project life cycle. Our comprehensive services include environmental management, exploration and mine geology, resource estimation, mining engineering, geotechnical engineering and project management.
  
MEC is keen to engage with an experienced Senior Mining Engineer who is looking for a new position to commence now, or in the new year
  
Perth-based and reporting to the Manager of Mining Engineering, you will be required to work both from the office as well as FIFO assignments for our clients, as required.
  
Key Responsibilities:

  • Medium to long-term mine design
  • Daily to LOM planning and scheduling
  • Operations and site-based technical support as required
  • Technical analysis and assessment
  • Report and presentation writing as required for project deliverables

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ideally 6 + years experience as a mining engineer (must include some local experience)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (must hold a degree in mine engineering)
  • Solid working knowledge and experience in open pit operations is preferred, a mix is welcomed.
  • Recent operational engineering experience in drill & blast, truck and shovel, scheduling, planning and design
  • Experience using mine design and scheduling software. For example; Vulcan, Alastri, Deswik, Minescape, XPAC & XACT.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and technical report-writing skills
