About Us and Position Purpose
CCB is a family owned and operated business that proudly manufactures one of the largest ranges of drapery, blinds, soft furnishings, and accessories from our workroom facilities in Sydney’s Inner West (Marrickville).
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Textile Designer to join our growing team. In this position you will play an integral role in the delivery of our product, while working in a friendly, passionate and talented team.
The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and an enthusiasm for original design. You will also possess a proven set of technical skills and a strong portfolio.
Skills and Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Textile Design or relevant design discipline
4+ years of experience in the design industry, preferably in home textiles (e.g. drapery, blinds, cushions, and bedspreads)
Extensive experience using Adobe Suite
Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills
An innovative and creative approach to design
A strong understanding of textiles and their properties, as well as an eye for colour and pattern
Bilingual Candidates (Spanish/English) highly encouraged to apply. We have a large diverse client and employee base, and these language skills will assist us operationally to deliver an outstanding customer experience to these individuals
Tasks and Responsibilities
Design and develop drapery, bedding and soft furnishings for commercial and residential customers from concept to production
Prepare detailed design specifications and technical drawings
Research key trends to inspire new ranges that complement existing product lines
Create seasonal range boards
Hands on design including fabric selection
Ability to work autonomously and as part of broader design team
Communicate with stakeholders and manage project outcomes
