This role is based in Mount Isa, you must be residing in the area or be willing to relocate to Mount Isa.

About the Role

The position is primarily responsible for providing a security presence whilst remaining alert and focused. You will be part of an enthusiastic, committed and customer focused team.

Based locally, you will work within a permanent 4 on 4 off rotational roster consisting of 12-hour shifts of days and nights. You will be primarily responsible for ensuring only authorised vehicles and personnel enter site. This position is located in Mount Isa so you will need to be living in the area or be willing to relocate to Mount Isa. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Site access control and traffic management
  • Conduct mobile/foot patrols and vehicle/bag security inspections
  • Perform drug and alcohol testing
  • Organise security passes, issue/sign keys in & out and lock/unlock buildings
  • Provide customer service, monitor radio communications, and driver behaviours
  • Provide emergency response to incidents on site
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely electronic logs and reports

Skills & Experience

  • QLD drivers' licence
  • QLD Security Licence – unarmed security officer as a minimum
    • Security Licence is funded by MSS Security where a return of service agreement is entered
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drug of abuse testing certification or willingness to obtain if successful
  • Available to work a rotational roster consisting of day, nights and weekends
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications
