SENIOR COUNSELLOR (PRE-KINDERGARTEN TO YEAR 12)

(Full-time/ High Part-time)

Perth College is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Counsellor to support the wellbeing of students at our School. As part of the Psychologist and Counselling team, the Senior Counsellor will contribute to the proactive approach of progressing student wellbeing and provide therapeutic support for students, predominantly within the Senior School.

This is a full-time ongoing position; however, we are open to considering a high part-time role for the right candidate.

This role is an integral part of our highly qualified Psychologist and Counselling Team. Working collaboratively within the respective Junior School and Senior School multidisciplinary team, the Senior Counsellor (Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12) strives to best meet our students' needs and foster a culture of teamwork amongst colleagues.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, forward-thinking and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding the principles of Positive Psychology and expertise in delivering programs aligned with these principles would be advantageous.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team, providing specialist support to students and staff in the areas of student learning, behaviour management, mental health and wellbeing. Our ideal candidate will have considerable experience in providing counselling to young adolescents.

  1. determining, designing and implementing effective interventions which promote positive educational and psychological outcomes for young people;
  2. building positive relationships with students, staff and parents that result in improved outcomes for students;
  3. developing and facilitating programs and/or workshops for students, staff and members of the School community; and
  4. working collaboratively and energetically within a dynamic organisation.

It is expected that employees will support the Anglican ethos of the School and all School policies and procedures.
