We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to study coastal and wetland birds, with a focus on the critically endangered Capricorn Yellow Chat. Applicants with a PhD in Ecology, Ornithology, Zoology, Wildlife Biology or Conservation Biology are welcome, and applicants with specific research expertise in wetland or coastal birds will be highly regarded

In this role, you will conduct research under limited supervision, either independently or as part of a team, contributing to conference and seminar papers and publications. You will participate in professional activities, including attending conferences and seminars, and undertake limited administrative functions related to your research. You will develop research-related material for teaching with guidance, conduct advanced experimental design and research procedures, and attend relevant meetings and committee memberships.

Position Requirements

Conduct research that aligns with the data requirements identified in the Capricorn Yellow Chat (Epthianura crocea macgregori) Recovery Action Plan 2023-2033, both independently and as part of a team Conduct research relating to wetland birds (may include water birds, shore birds and sea birds), particularly through fieldwork conducted in the central Queensland region, including in remote locations Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Produce research outputs and attract research income.
