Pest Plant Officer - Local Government

If you enjoy working in the outdoors and happy 'to get your hands dirty' or 'feet wet', this is the role for you

  • $36.00 Hourly Rate + 11% Super
  • Monday to Friday, 06:00am to 03:00pm
  • Excellent work life balance, with a 9-day fortnight
  • Kingston Location - Work Close to Home

  • Long term ongoing (with possibility of ongoing extension/permanent to the right candidate)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • To survey, record and treat problems associated with declared and environmental weeds (waters works may be required)
  • Report the location of declared pest plant infestations
  • Maintain accurate records in relation to survey and treatment notices
  • Assist in undertaking mosquito and other pest control activities on identified properties or places in accordance, under the strict supervision of a Pest Management Technician

Who are we looking for?

  • Possession of, or ability to quickly acquire, an Agricultural Chemical Distribution Commercial Licence
  • Possession of a Traffic Control Licence or willing to obtain
  • A sound knowledge of herbicide used to control pest plants
  • A sound knowledge of plant identification or the ability to rapidly acquire
  • Previous experience in driving 4WD and all terrain bikes/vehicles is advantageous
  • Possession of an 'MR' class licence is highly regarded
