About the role
Epiroc has an opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join our Tax team in Blacktown, NSW. The key objectives of this position will be responsible for Compliance & Assurance, assisting with the tax obligations and arrangement of the company. To improve the company’s performance by recommending tax strategies that comply with the relevant legislation. As a key contributor to the financial success of the business, the Tax Accountant is critical to ensuring the company is fulfilling its legal obligations. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with preparing the income tax return computations of the Australian Tax Consolidated Group and make updates required after PWC review.
- Assist with preparation of the country-by-country reporting calculations for review and lodgement by PWC
- Assist with preparation and lodgement of FBT calculations for multiple entities within the legal group structure.
- Assist with preparation and of payroll tax annual returns and calculations.
- Review of the monthly Business Activity statement and monthly income tax instalment process completed by Assistant Tax Accountant
- Quarterly calculations of deferred and current tax for all the entities in Australian legal group
- Completion of quarterly tax schedules by Day 3 of reporting
- True up of income tax, payroll tax and FBT prior year balances after completion of the returns
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of tax compliance work papers and documentation.
- Monitoring the thin capitalisation position of the tax consolidated group and organising relevant adjustments to equity/debt
- Involvement with treasury & funding work
- Assist with review & lodgement of biannual Payment Times reporting templates completed by Assistant Tax Accountant for all Australian entities in the consolidated group
- Annual compliance reporting for Bilateral APA
- Assist with renewal of Bilateral APA when needed
- Monitoring transfer pricing to ensure thresholds set in bilateral APA are met
- Assist with management and completion of tax reviews/ audits undertaken by government organisations
- Assist with tax steps for acquisitions, restructures and liquidations
- Assist with implementation, integration and maintenance of tax systems and processes.
- Recommending tax strategies that align with business goals
- Ad hoc tax queries and tax advice
- Assist with the external interim and final audits to meet Group reporting deadlines
- Assist with creation of statutory accounts for the Epiroc South Pacific Holdings Pty Ltd consolidated legal entity and management of the related external audit process – due date 31 March
- Review of tax and loans/deposits balance sheet account reconciliations where needed
- Ad hoc queries around application of accounting concepts and procedures
- Ad hoc queries around coding of invoices or allocation of journals
To be successful in this role you will have:
- University degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or similar academic background.
- Previous commercial tax experience
- CA, CPA and/or tax accreditation
- High level of analytical skills.
- High level of communication and organisational skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Intermediate PC skills with advanced skills in excel.
- Exposure to ERP would be desirable.
