Salary: $70,000 plus 11% superannuation.

Our client Hillis Motor Group is one of Australia’s largest automotive dealer groups and an authorised sales and service center based in Wagga Wagga NSW. Hillis Motor Group prides on its state-of-the-art workshop facility, which encompasses the best of diagnostic equipment, with upcoming training opportunities for the successful applicant in these areas.

The client is looking for a full-time qualified Motor Mechanic with at least 2 years prior experience. You will be responsible for performing a range of engine & mechanical tests, diagnosing, repairing and servicing as detailed per product warranty guidelines, company policy or Service Managers instruction. 

Your day to day will see you conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and determine required repairs. You will conduct routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements and fluid checks, all while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organised workshop.

To succeed in this role, you will be someone who enjoys a challenge whilst working in a team environment, carrying out practical and hands on activities.

Responsibilities

•      Diagnosis of automotive vehicles (various makes and models).

•      Conducting high-quality repairs and service work.

•      Collaborating with service staff and management.

•      Adapting to the ever-evolving automotive technologies across a wide range of vehicles.

•      Maintaining company's unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

•      Ability to figure out the fault, repair and provide the best possible solution

•      Mechanical repairs including periodic servicing, brakes repair, clutches and timing belts repair/replacement on different makes and models.

•      Inspect and run diagnostic tests to discover functional issues.

•      Dismantle and replace or repair the defective part or equipment.

  • Change engine and transmission oils.

•      Fitting of vehicle accessories to new vehicles

•      Conduct quality checks before returning vehicles.

•      Adhere and follow work safety guidelines, report any hazards, general housekeeping and workshop maintenance.

Skills and Qualifications

•      Australian Qualifications (Certificate III or IV)

•      Minimum 2 years prior experience in a similar role

•      Ability to work independently and unsupervised

•      Ability to work in a busy workshop

•      High attention to detail

•      Maintain a valid NSW driver's license.

•      Demonstrate excellent communication skills and time management abilities.

•      Be flexible, a team player, and capable of working efficiently to meet or exceed targets and deadlines.
