Overview

Our commercial client is seeking to engage a Business Analyst who has had experience with Data Projects for an initial 6 month contract opportunity. The ideal candidate would have experience working across a data migration, archiving and decommissioning, while also supporting business objectives, and ensuring seamless transition with minimal disruption. The role is Brisbane based for an immediate start. 

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Conduct thorough data analysis, providing actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
• Identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs) from large data sets to help optimize business processes and strategies.
• Design and implement data-driven solutions that support business objectives and operational needs.
• Lead and support the transition of business processes and data systems, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption to business operations.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that clearly communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders.
• Work closely with IT, product, and business teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business goals.
• Provide ongoing support for data-driven initiatives and continuous process improvements.

Skills required

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst across data projects preferably within industries such as finance, technology, or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis tool SQL. 
• Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable business strategies.
• Experience across data projects including migrations is essential with experience around data archiving also advantageous. 
• Experience in driving seamless transitions for new processes, systems, or technologies, with minimal operational disruption.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a focus on understanding business needs.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
