Role Introduction

Cathay Pacific is looking for an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to perform maintenance, alongside with our fantastic Sydney Engineering Team on Cathay Pacific and third-party aircrafts. This role reports to Engineering Manager and is a permanent full-time position.

This role is responsible for assisting the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering team and ensuring that a high level of safety, reliability, security, and presentation is provided to the company, customers, and regulatory authorities whilst gaining the required knowledge and experience to complete Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) (MEA40718).

Key Responsibilities
Working on a shift basis, perform aircraft maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft and third-party customers (if applicable) under supervision of the Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Perform servicing and maintenance for station ground equipment, vehicles, systems and facilities Support the contingency plans and ad hoc operational requirements such as diversions, charters, ad hoc aircraft type changes, major disruption recovery, etc. Provide and deliver a high level and personalised service to customers. Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety standards Attend trainings, performance reviews and discuss career development plan with the designated Direct Appraiser to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and commercial improvement Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required. Requirements
Experience with wide-body aircraft types, including B787, B777, A350, A330, A380 and B747-8 Freighter aircrafts would be an advantage. Excellent organisational skills Attention to detail and high-level accuracy is imperative Sensitive to the requirements of different cultures and personalities Ability to communicate clearly and effectively Proven ability to operate effectively with limited information and working independently without supervision Ability to work safely under time pressures Willing to work appropriate shifts on a 24-hour, seven day a week roster pattern in accordance with operational requirements Benefits
