The Role:

The Operations Manager NSW plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating daily operations within NSW. The role is responsible for managing a team of employees, ensuring efficient production and services delivery, maintaining quality standards and contributing to overall operational performance. The role works closely with the COO. Workplace Health and Safety is a critical component of the role.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Team Management

-Supervise and lead a team of operations staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and setting standards of performance.

-Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.

Operational Efficiency

-Plan, organise, and coordinate daily operational activities to meet production goals, quality standards, and deadlines.

-Monitor workflow, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvement to enhance productivity and efficiency.

-Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety regulations, and quality control standards.

-Coordinate production activity through liaison with other Ausdeck Functions as required.

Resource Management

-Manage and optimize resources, including equipment, materials, and labor, to maximize operational performance and minimize costs.

-Coordinate with other departments, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services required for production.

Communication and Reporting

-Communicate with senior management, colleagues and team members to provide updates on operations, address issues, and collaborate on improvement issues.

-Prepare and analyze operational reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Problem-Solving

-Identify operational challenges, analyze root causes, develop and implement solutions to address issues and improve production processes.

-Make informed decisions to resolve conflict, prioritize task, and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational objectives.

Quality Assurance

-Monitor and maintain quality standards in production processes, products, or services to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with regulations.

-Implement quality control measures, conduct inspections, and address any deviations from quality requirements.

Workplace Health and Safety

-Play a leading role in championing workplace health and safety

-Lead workplace safety initiatives

-conversant with workplace health and safety regulations

Experience/Qualifications

Essential

-Proven experience in operations management or similar role, demonstrating leadership and

management skills with 5+ years field experience in a production environment.

-Strong analytical, problem-solving skills

-Knowledge of building products industry

Desirable

-Certificate or Diploma in Management

-Certificate or Experience in Lean Manufacturing

-Certificate or Diploma in Work Health Safety
