What you’ll be doing

The position of Radiographer is responsible for operating and maintaining the Mater’s Radiography Services in the CVU. This involves ensuring that the necessary systems are:

Installed and operated in accordance with MPH and legislative standards and requirements. Maintained to ensure that the Radiography Services and systems are operational and safe. Communicated to staff to ensure understanding and knowledge of systems operations and safety. Reviewed and analysed to ensure that the Radiography Services an systems are current and relevant to the needs of MPH

The radiographer is also responsible for;

Provision of expert care to patients within the CVU Performing radiography duties within the CVU to ensure correct and safe use of all radiographic equipment while complying with the standards of MPH Participating in CVU management via input at meetings and timely and appropriate communication via the systems in place. To promote safe practice and vigilance with regard to radiation safety issues within MPH CVU Maintain and update the patient database of procedures performed within the CVU.

About you

You will have suitable Qualifications recognised by the Australasian institute of Radiography. You will also meet the below criteria:

Registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of QLD. The Radiographer in the angiography suite requires extensive knowledge of radiation usage and radiation Safety issues. Knowledge of coronary and vascular anatomy and interventional techniques Previous Cath Lab experience is desirable Keen interest in cardiology, cerebral and peripheral vascular studies (diagnostic and interventional)
