About the role: 

Are you a Primary Teacher who is passionate about shaping young minds and making a difference in the lives of children? We invite you to become a part of our close-knit community at St Patrick’s Primary, Parramatta, where we work collaboratively to enhance the learning experience for our students. 

About the opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Primary Classroom Teacher to join our community on a temporary part-time basis for 2 days per week. This position will involve teaching across a range of Key Learning Areas to service the needs of the school, specifically within the Creative Arts space. You will work alongside a collaborative and community oriented team committed to achieving positive learning outcomes for each student.

This position will conclude at the end of 2024. 

More specifically you will:

  • Structure lessons to meet the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of each student, meeting them where they are at in their learning journey

  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment and implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans

  • Evaluate all aspects of your teaching practice to ensure you are meeting the learning needs of each student

  • Interpret and use student assessment data to diagnose barriers to learning and to challenge students to improve their performance, improving the overall academic achievement of the school community

  • Effectively manage the learning cycle, including planning for learning and assessment, developing learning programs, teaching, assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers

Qualifications and accreditations:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)

  • Statements of Service

  • Valid Working with Children Check
