The client:
Our client delivers civil construction services with a commitment to quality, safety, and environmental sustainability. They provide a range of civil services, providing a range of public assets in the civil space. As the HSE Compliance Manager, your primary role is to support the organization in maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. You will work to ensure that HSE policies and procedures are implemented, and regulatory requirements are met, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among employees.
About the role:
- Your main priority initially will be to implement and maintain the quality management systems across the organisation and consult widely to ensure potential improvements are identified, analysed, and implemented.
- Attain and maintain Quality ISO 9001, OHS ISO 45001 & Environment ISO 1400, VESI and VEDN certification.
- Provide high level advice to the team and key stakeholders across the full range of safety, environment and quality policies, programs, and practices.
- Ensure a wide-ranging audit program is implemented to ensure risks, hazards and issues are identified early and where necessary mitigations implemented.
- Developing and reviewing work instructions, SOP's, SWMS, and online risk assessments.
- Develop, implement, and deliver training programs that educate employees and promote HSEQ awareness and competencies.
- Ensure the ongoing development of a suite of contemporary and effective HSEQ policies, procedures, systems, and processes for effective and consistent implementation across the organisation.
Requirements:
- A minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Quality and/or Safety Management role.
- Exposure to and involvement in the process of Quality Management System development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems including knowledge of quality control, process improvement and auditing processes.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, particularly in relation to work health and safety.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure all aspects of the HSEQ management system are implemented effectively.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with experience in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
- An influencer of good culture and behaviours in the workplace.
- Advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be a self-driven person with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
