Job Opportunity: Assistant Accountant at a Prestigious Financial Planning Firm in Manly Beach

Are you an organised and detail-oriented professional looking to join a highly regarded financial planning firm?

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant or/ Accountant to join our team in Manly Beach. This role offers a supportive, professional work environment and the opportunity to contribute to our clients' financial success. Ideally this candidate will live close to the Northern Beaches/ Manly. 

Essential: 

Permanent Resident of Australia 

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks:

  • Client Onboarding:
    • Prepare engagement letters and ethical clearance letters (if necessary).
    • Add new clients to Fin365, Xero Blue Contact, Xero Tax, and the SuperRecords Portal.
    • Assist clients with the nomination process.
    • Appoint our firm as an ASIC agent for companies.
  • Client Information Management:
    • Update client information, including addresses, and prepare necessary ASIC forms.
    • Liaise with ATO, ASIC, and other government organizations regarding urgent accounting and tax issues.

Weekly Tasks:

  • Send ASIC annual statements and invoices to clients.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable by managing emails and making follow-up phone calls.
  • Set up and follow up on direct debit (Go Cardless) arrangements.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on financial reports and tax return queries.
  • Prepare final packages for signing (including email, DocuSign, and invoices) and follow up on unsigned documents.

Monthly Tasks:

  • Generate and send an outstanding ASIC invoice list to the SMSF Team.
  • Monitor tax returns and BAS lodgment status by sending reminder emails and making necessary follow-up phone calls.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in accounting or a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero and Fin365.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience liaising with ATO, ASIC, and other government organizations is a plus.
