As an APS 2 level Inorganic Analyst, you will play a critical role in preparing and analysing samples for trace elements in the Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory.


Located in North Ryde, this position supports cutting-edge research and compliance in the environmental, food, and health sectors. Your work will involve using advanced laboratory instruments like ICPMS, ICPOES, and CV-AFS to deliver world-class measurement services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare environmental and food/biota samples for trace element analysis.
  • Conduct routine analysis using specialised laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with WH&S standards and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Calibrate minor laboratory equipment to maintain operational excellence.
  • Collaborate within a team to meet turnaround time targets.
  • Occasionally support customer service or laboratory services teams as required.

About You:


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a laboratory environment. You will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualifications & Expertise:
    • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or a related scientific field.
    • Proven experience in sample preparation and trace element analysis.
    • Knowledge of QA/QC requirements in NATA-accredited or GMP settings.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to shared goals.
    • Ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and techniques.
