About the Opportunity
William Clarke College is seeking a suitably experienced Gifted and Talented Teacher (Secondary) to join our growing Diverse Learning team in this newly created role reporting to the Director of Diverse Learning.
As our Secondary Gifted and Talented Teacher, you will play an integral role in shaping and delivering the strategic direction of gifted education at the College. As part of the Diverse Learning faculty, you will advocate for and support gifted and talented students, including twice-exceptional learners, ensuring that each student's potential is nurtured through targeted, challenging, and holistic educational experiences.
This role requires a collaborative and data-informed approach to gifted education, with a focus on professional development, community engagement, and fostering a school-wide culture that values and supports gifted learners in reaching their fullest potential.
This is a permanent Full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2025.
About You
- Post-graduate qualification in Gifted and Talented education, or commitment to complete within three years
- Proven Secondary school (Year 7 – 12) experience in Gifted and Talented Education
- Strong ability to collaborate with teachers and work effectively within a team setting and with other staff across the College
- Expertise in effective pedagogy and best practices in Gifted and Talented education
- Strong intellectual acumen, with the ability to engage, challenge, and inspire gifted and talented students through advanced concepts and critical thinking
- Competency in collecting, interpreting, and analysing data, including standardised assessments, with reliability and validity
- High standard of work ethic, showing a strong commitment to teaching excellence
- Exceptional organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Promote a positive relationship between all staff at the College
- Follow relevant policies and procedures in relation to safe work practices and take reasonable care of own and others health, safety and wellness
- An individual of integrity who is equally demanding and supportive when holding others accountable
- Work in partnership and consultation with Executive and Senior Leadership for continuous improvement opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to follow and uphold the cultural values, policies, procedures and statutory obligations
- Proficient in relevant computer applications as well as an ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems
- Actively foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Ability to undertake the duties of the position in accordance with William Clarke College’s Purpose, Values and Code Conduct
- Regularly practicing member of a Christian church
- Ability and confidence to openly share the Christian faith with students
- Valid Working with Children Check
